La Celestina, February’s  onstage offering at Milagro Theatre, 525 SE Stark St. is the tragic comedy with Calisto, the young, impulsive nobleman madly in love with Melibea, daughter of the businessman. Calisto resorts to engaging Celestina, to win Melibea’s love. The original novel by Fernando de Rojas in 1499, written in acts comprised almost solely of dialogue, is as potent today as when it launched Spain’s literary renaissance more than 500 years ago. Presented in Spanish with English supertitles, it opens Friday, Feb. 8, with a reception and food from Pambiche Restaurant. Curtain times, advance tickets and more at www.milagro.org 503.236.7253.
