Milagro Theatre presents the world premiere of Guapa, written by Caridad Svich and directed by Olga Sanchez. The story involves Roly, a single-mom in a Texas border town everyone longs to escape from.

Along comes Guapa, natural-born athlete with a fiery ambition to become an international soccer star.  When Guapa joins Roly’s family, everyone’s life is turned upside down. Will Guapa convince the non-believers to let go of their doubts, with one shot to reach the big leagues from the barrio? Guapa is presented in English with references in Spanish and Quechua.

Guapa runs through April 13 with performances Thursdays at 7:30 pm, Fridays and Saturdays at 8 pm and a Sunday matinee at 2 pm. Opening night is Friday, March 22, at 8 pm, with complimentary reception catered by Tortillería De Leon of Gresham.
