The Lincoln Street Baptist church at 32nd and SE Lincoln and its parking lot across the street have been sold and the Portland Development Group will be building four single-family houses where the church was and two single-family houses in the parking lot across Lincoln. AIG, owner of the three properties on Division, will be developing two rowhouses on a lot at 2607 SE 31st.  Work is beginning on the proposed apartment house at 48th and Division.

Vindalho is gone and the space will be filled by a Tuna and Tapas sushi place called Ahi.50 Licks Ice Cream will open this month on Clinton between 20th and 21st – across from Compote. St. Honore Bakery will join Salt and Straw at 35th on Division. Little t Bakery and Speilman’s coffee are both looking for second locations. Yoga Union at 50th and Lincoln will move into a new, larger building two blocks south at 2305 SE 50th in early 2014. The For Sale sign at the large stone house 3828 SE Division is down, but no activity is showing.

As for the construction, closing Division between 34th and 37th is rescheduled for September 4 – 12, later than planned. The NE/SE bikeways project will start citizen meetings in September. A possible solution to bike lanes on both sides of 26th between Division and Powell is removal of all parking. Other options might be available. If you want to join this group, contact Rich Newlands, rich.newlands@portlandoregon.gov.

Also scheduled soon are bioswales between Division and Taggart and 40th and 42nd. The work restriping Division between 60th and 82nd appears to be done and traffic is still feeling its way past the intersection at 60th and Division and the merge into one lane between 82nd and 80th.

Joseph Annett from BES is available as long as streetscape construction continues. Contact him at 503.823.2934 or joseph.annett@portlandoregon.gov.
