The January North Tabor Friends of Trees planting was successful and gave a new home to more than twenty trees, including much- needed new trees along Glisan St. which will grow to provide shade and street-scaping. If you are interested in volunteering as a Summer Tree Inspector, to make sure new trees in the neighborhood do well, contact friendsoftrees.org.

The March 18 meeting of the North Tabor Neighborhood Association features a presentation on Portland Bureau of Transportation’s High Crash Corridor Program. Burnside from SW Barnes Rd. to East 67th is one of 10 designated high-crash corridors. The meeting is scheduled for 6:30 pm, Tuesday, March 18 at NorthStar, 5600 NE Glisan St.

Transportation Co-Chair, Terry Dublinski, is chairing a new group to work on solutions, CURBS, “Citizen’s United Rebuilding Burnside Safely.” If you would like to help, contact terry.dublinski@gmail.com .

The North Tabor / Mount Tabor Cleanup has been selected to participate in the Reuse Pilot with Southeast Uplift, City of Portland, and the Reuse Alliance. This exciting pilot fosters working partnerships to incorporate more reuse into neighborhood cleanups.
