We have a new board after our May meeting. Welcome to our new members and thank you to our returning ones. Thanks also to our outgoing members for all their work over the years. Congratulations to Kerns resident and Sustainability chair, Sean Brandon. He won the 2014 Royal Rosarian Best Rose Garden award this year. Congratulations Sean.

Kerns Neighborhood Association and Portland Parks & Recreation present Movie at Oregon Park on Thurs., July 10. This year’s movie is Monster’s University. A live band will play starting at 6 pm and the movie starts at dusk. Food carts and free popcorn will be available. Bring your blankets and chairs and enjoy our neighbors and our park!
Our July Board meeting is Weds. July 16 from 6-8 pm at Pacific Crest Community School at NE 29th & Davis. Pizza and beverages are provided. Anyone who lives, works or owns property in the neighborhood is invited to attend. Agenda will be posted on our website 7 days before the meeting. Interested in being on the agenda? The Kerns Neighborhood Association will have a table at the Neighborhood Food and Music Block Party at Whole Foods Market Laurelhurst July 19 from noon-4 pm at 2825 E Burnside. Fun, food and music. Free. The Oregon Humane Society, Pet Samaritan Clinic, Tapalaya, and live music from My Voice Music, and Nick Kent. The Kerns and Laurelhurst neighborhood associations will have booths there. Stop by and say hello.
We are gearing up for our Annual August picnic,Tues., Aug. 5 and are soliciting donations for our raffle and silent auction that night. Do you have a business and would like to donate something?
