The 5th Annual Buckman Picnic in the Park will be held, Sunday, August 10, from  4-8 pm at Colonel Summers Park, SE 17th and Taylor St.

Our neighborhood picnic, coordinated in conjunction with National Night Out week has a free BBQ meal, kid’s activities and bouncy house, organizational booths, free door prizes, live music and this year will have as special guests, the Belmont Goats. Bring the kids, the family, friends..everyone is welcome.

Volunteers are needed to help serve food the day of the event. Contact your Buckman Picnic Team to sign up for a short shift at the grill, serving potato salad, cold drinks or slicing watermelon. We need volunteers starting at 3 pm for set up on to about 9 pm for clean up.

This free picnic is 100% volunteer-organized and financed. Donations are accepted and are 100% tax-deductible through our fiscal sponsor, Southeast Uplift. Please send donations of any amount to SEUL, c/o of the Buckman Picnic, 3534 SE Main St., Portland, 97214.

In lieu of the picnic, there will be no regularly scheduled Buckman Community Association meetings in August. Meetings will resume, Thursday, September 11, 7-9 pm at the Multnomah County Board Room, 501 SE Hawthorne Blvd. See you at the picnic.
