France’s Joëlle Léandre in Concert

The Creative Music Guild’s Confluence Visiting Artist Series presents French bassist, vocalist and composer Joëlle Léandre Friday, February 13 at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 5431 NE 20th Ave.

ajoelle-leandreThe program includes a duo set by Léandre and local pianist Dana Reason and an octet with Léandre and Reason joining Juniana Lanning, Doug Theriault, Doug Detrick, Jonathan Sielaff, Andrew Jones and Ken Ollis for sure to be unforgettable improvisational ensemble performance.

Leandre writes extensively for dance and theatre and has performed with Merce Cunningham, John Cage, Anthony Braxton, Irene Schweizer, William Parker, Steve Lacy, Lauren Newton, John Zorn and so many more.
