Opción Múltiple is a premeiere of a new 21st century comedy from Milagro Theatre. The story is set in contemporary Mexico City where Diana, the heroine, is a modern single woman negotiating the nuances of a new relationship. Her dissociative identity disorder creates complexities she must negotiate as a trauma in her young life fragmented her psyche into several personalities, and each battles the other to protect her. This“very Mexican”, dark comedy has many layers and as a comedy, makes us laugh while deepening our understanding of the challenges of a mental illness faced by many in silence.
