Storefront Revue: The Babes are BACK!

Triangle Productions’ last show of the season is entitled Storefront Revue: The Babes are BACK! – a delightful look at a successful Portland theatre from another age, the Storefront Actors Theatre. Playwright Don Horn, known for his love of history, has reached back into the tales of one of Oregon’s most iconic theaters. There are skits, compiled scripts and songs in a 90 minute show covering twenty years of vivid history.

Performances from the past like No More Oil (sung by a group of dinosaurs); Cooking With Power Tools; the longest running musical in Oregon history, Angry Housewives; and THE song that defined this theatre, Eat Your ***** Cornflakes!

In 1967, Portland State University sponsored a full-time Equity theatre – the American Theatre Company. It closed in 1970, and took 16 years before Portland had another, OSF – Portland (later becoming Portland Center Stage). American Theatre Company, became Storefront Actors’ Theatre during the mid 70’s and it all came to an end in 1991.

The show runs May 7 through 30 at The Sanctuary, 1785 NE Sandy Blvd. All seats are reserved. Ticket prices $15 – $35 and all the info is at trianglepro.org
