1000 Canaries Intergenerational Women’s Singing and Creativity Camp takes place at Camp Collins in Gresham, September 18 – 20.
This is the third year for this gathering of women and girls of all ages. Mother and daughter Connie and Anna Cohen created and continue to nurture this celebration for the third year in a row.
Connie Cohen is a beloved Portland songwriter musician, whose songs have moved and inspired generations of listeners at coffeehouses and festivals. Her daughter Anna is a singer and writer as well and one of Portland’s premiere fashion designers.
The weekend provides women and girls of all ages to a wooded retreat of song and energy for every level of musical experience, to build and heal community across generations through song and creativity.
Designed to be affordable, the camp offers classes on singing techniques, theatrical improv, yoga, qi gong, songwriting and more.
Teachers are the Cohens, Terri Grayum, Nan Collie, Caitlin Quinn and Kacy Borba with piano accompanist Amy Vanacore.
The gathering is held in beautiful Camp Collins 45 minutes from Portland at 3001 SE Oxbow Parkway on the banks of the Sandy River. Last day for registration is September 10. See www.1000canaries.com/retreat for all the details or call 503.425.9142.
