1725 SE Hawthorne Blvd. hosts a monthly art exhibit featuring the works of Portland’s meditation and yoga practitioners. The work of Jay Stewart opens August 6 with an opening reception from 6 to 8 pm.
Stewart works in a variety of media. She has studied at Pacific Northwest College of Art and is a meditation teacher in the Shambhala lineage of Buddhism.
The show includes two series of small works, 5 X 5 on panels, called Odd Couples and Bijoux. It also previews a larger series, 15 X 20 on paper, called Windhorse. This series represents three stages of forming a love partnership but without using human figures. Bijoux, or small jewels, are explorations in color using traditional designs. See www.karunastore.com/971.299.0565.
