Action/Adventure Theatre, 1050 SE Clinton St., presents a series of pilot plays January 21 – February 14. The performances give theater-makers the opportunity to bring new ideas to live audiences and for four weekends, new shows are presented each week vying for audience votes, competing for a full production in the 2016/17 Season.

Here are the four offerings for this year:

January 21-24: Talon Bigelow’s Purgator Inc. – A workplace rom-com about the minutiae of working class in the Afterlife.

January 28-31: Benja Barker’s Explorers of the Quantum Doorway –A team of three ace-scientist-explorers face danger, strange creatures, and adventure on an alien planet in a story inspired by Saturday morning action cartoons.

February 4-7: Connery MacRae and Alexandra Schaffer’s Pandemonium Playhouse Presents: Doomageddon – A world where puppets and children have become increasingly unpopular,

February 11-14: Isinglass’ Fall of the Faire – A semi-improvised comedy following the adventures of young people working their first jobs as squires at a Medieval Funworld Amusement park as lines between fiction and reality become murkier and murkier.

Tickets are $12 in advance, $15 at the door. All four weekends $40 with a Season Pass. Thursdays are always pay-what-you-will.
