Henrik Ibsen’s A Doll’s House is the new production from Shaking The Tree Theatre presented April 8 – May 7.
Nora Helmer is a young housewife with a crippling dependency on her husband of eight years.
In order to save them from a debt, Nora arranges a loan without her husband’s knowledge, and does so by forging a signature. When he accuses her of damaging his reputation, the illusions behind their marriage are exposed, and Nora wakes to feelings of self awareness for the first time in her life.
Written by Ibsen in 1879, this was and is still, a startling exploration of a marriage and a self breaking through.
It opens Friday April 8 at 7:30 pm and is presented Thursday through Sunday evenings at 7:30 pm at Shaking The Tree Theatre & Studio, 823 SE Grant St. Tickets online: Shaking-the-Tree.com
