Poetry in May at IPRC

Independent Publishing Resource Center presents three writers in a May reading – Rob Halpern of Ypsilanti, Michigan, and from Portland, Lamarra Haynes and Rachael Jensen.

Rob Halpern’s latest book of poems is Common Place (Ugly Duckling Presse 2015). He has published six other collections. He splits his time between San Francisco and Ypsilanti and teaches at Eastern Michigan University and Women’s Huron Valley Prison.

Lamarra Haynes poems emerge from her political analysis and reflects her personal explorations into how lofty political decisions affect her own life. Her poem “#FreddieGray” is published in the academic journal Capitalism Nature Socialism.

Rachael Jensen has contributed to Publication Studio, Poor Claudia, & SNOOT Books.

The event is Saturday, May 7, at IPRC, 1001 SE Division St. Doors open at 7 pm, Reading is at 7:30 sharp. $5.
