PETE SEEGER BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION AND TRIBUTE Celebrate Pete Seeger’s birthday and clean water campaigns on the Columbia River with a live musical tribute to Pete featuring Joe Hickerson in concert, a sing-a-long and more, May 1 at Clinton Street Theatre, 2522 Clinton St. from 6:30 – 9 pm. Tickets are $10 in advance and $15 at the door. Seeger’s passion for the Hudson River helped spawn the cleanup of that industrialized river and a whole organization to protect and restore rivers around the globe. LOVE & INFORMATION BY CARYL CHURCHILL – Theatre Vertigo’s show is at Shoebox Theater, 2110 SE 10th Ave. continues through May 7. In this fast moving kaleidoscope, more than a hundred characters try to make sense of what they know. Someone sneezes. Someone won’t answer the door. Someone put an elephant on the stairs. Someone’s not ready to talk. Someone is her brother’s mother. The playwright does not identify specific characters or assign lines; the director and actors work together to determine who says what in what context. Thursdays – Saturdays at 7:30 pm Sundays 2 pm. See theatrevertigo.org.
