Buckman June 16

By Susan Lindsay

BCA Board Elections in June! The Buckman Community Association has a nine member Board and for this election cycle, there are several positions open. Terms are two year and require attendance at monthly Board and General Meetings (both on same night) and service on a sub-committee or special project of your choice.  Board service is interesting, educational and enables one to make an impact in your neighborhood. Prior BCA involvement not required but encouraged. Anyone who lives, works, owns property in or has a strong interest/connection to the Buckman Neighborhood is invited to run.  If you want to serve, meet others, learn about proposed changes and new developments and represent your neighborhood and neighbors, attend the June 9th BCA meeting at 7pm.

The BCA picnic is less than three months away and we need help coordinating! Picnic is scheduled for Sunday, August 14th, 4 – 8 pm at Colonel Summers Park.  We specifically need a Volunteer Coordinator and volunteers to help serve the delicious food that day.  Please email your interest with helping to: buckmanboard@googlegroups.com A picnic meeting will take place the third week in June. Check our fb page for updates.

The BCA has a new website! Thanks to the work of the website sub-committee, the BCA site is live and updated. Look for more information (meeting announcements, minutes, special notices.) to be posted there as it gets rolling. All at www.buckmanpdx.org The BCA meets every 2nd Thursday of the month, 7 – 9 pm at the Multnomah County Board Room, 501 SE Hawthorne Blvd. The Board meets from 6:20 – 7 pm. The BCA Land Use Meeting is every 3rd Thursday, 7-8:30pm, same location.
