If you like to lunch out, have you tried Burrasca at 20th and Clinton? How about Off the Waffle for breakfast or Tidbit Food Farm for options, options, and more options. Recently we welcomed Laura Hill Massage and Mauri Counseling. Also new are Bitterman Salt Company and Fumerie Parfumerie. (Their hand-milled soaps are the ultimate of self-indulgence.) Beyond and newer than the map are: Clay’s Smokehouse is moving to the other side of town; B & T has gone, as has Koi Fusion. Honky Tonk Tacos at the corner of SE 34th and Division is open for business. It has limited parking in front. Whiskey Soda Lounge across Division is serving a Thai breakfast.
We’ve been talking to SurfRider Foundation about installing community ashcans for cigarette butts, far too often left on the sidewalk or dumped into the bioswales. Folks, they don’t biodegrade! Filters are toxic waste! They are made of a plastic, which does not biodegrade. Take a good look at our commercial area and let us know where you recommend we place the small ashcans. The canisters are often attached to the walls of pubs and restaurants where smokers congregate. SurfRider reports that in some neighborhoods these canisters have reduced cigarette butt litter by as much as 65%.
We have already secured and regularly empty some Tri-Met trashcans as we continue to provide you with a safe, inviting dining and shopping experience.
