Jim Page in Concert

Portland Folk Music presents activist and songwriter from Seattle, Jim Page.  A modern successor to Woody Guthrie and Earl Robinson, Page has been writing and singing around the globe since the early 1970s.

He’s a veteran performer at the annual Oregon Country Fair, and one of the founders of the Pike market performers Guild, Seattle’s first street performers union. Page was included in the 50 most Influential Musicians In Seattle History alongside Jimi Hendrix, Quincy Jones and Ernestine Anderson.

A prolific and thoughtful writer, Page’s songs have been covered by The Doobie Brothers, Christy Moore, The Moving Hearts, Dick Gaughan, Roy Bailey, David Soul and Michael Hedges.

The concert is Friday September 16, doors at 7 pm, music at 7:30. The new season is in a new concert venue too: Colonial Heights Presbyterian Church, 2828 SE Stephens.
