has just released his “first honest record” , called Mickelson Flickering. He appears in a solo concert at Café Artichoke, Saturday November 9 accompanied by his banjo and acoustic guitar.  Mickelson “sings the stories of those living their lives in contemporary America, as fragmented as it is” and when he’s not playing, he’s producing records in his Bay Area studio. When he was too sick to perform live, he turned to his visual arts background. His illustrations have appeared in magazines and newspapers and he’s written and illustrated children’s books too.  Opening the show is Nick Foltz, followed by Nathan Earle. mickelsonmusic.com  Tickets are $15. Artichoke Music is at 3130 SE Hawthorne Blvd. 503.232.8845
