OHSU’s Richmond Clinic has a new CEO.  Robert Trachtenberg, from Rhode Island, started in January and will lead the clinic through the changes coming to healthcare by the new administration.

KaTi Portland is open and serving at 2932 SE Division. Calling themselves rustic Thai cuisine, KaTi Portland serves vegan and vegetarian dishes and offers a full bar. Reviews are mostly positive.

Many, many thanks to artist Rin Carroll Jackson for restoring the mural on Rite Aid’s front wall. This is the fourth time the mural has been defaced. Division Clinton replaced the neighborhood mural in 2004 with one selected by the neighborhood. Neighbors have stepped in to help clean and repair the mural every time help was needed.

On-The-Move Community Integration received a Fred Meyer grant to help their clients read and write. They are looking for volunteers with patience, enthusiasm, and the ability to develop connections. Educational experience is not required; full training is provided. On-The-Move is on the curve at 4187 SE Division. 503.287.0346.

Mirador Community Store at 2106 SE Division is closing the end of March. Lynn and Steve Hanrahan are retiring. Stop in for the fabulous closing sales through March.

Construction started on Martin Eichinger’s building at 2516 SE Division. The redeveloped building, named The Geode, a Nest for Creative Entrepreneurs will provide space for thinkers and creators.  Although the building will offer amenities like bike parking, showers, and eventually a roof garden, Mr. Eichinger will be the only resident.  The project should be completed by this July. He plans to open his sculpture gallery and to offer studio tours.

January 26, a group of Division Clinton businesses met to consider plans for the future of the business district. Suggestions included:

creating an annual Halloween event,

moving the board meeting to noon from the current 7:30 AM,

increasing the number of garbage cans on the street, banners,

working with the active artistic community,

continuing the street fair and parade,

increasing pedestrian safety crossing Division,

looking for possible community gathering spaces

If you think of another amenity you’d like Division Clinton to consider, contact Sydney Mead at sydney@habitatepropertymanagement.com
