Joe Bike Bicycle Shop opened on the corner Lincoln and Cesar Chavez Blvd. replacing Fix My Dead PC.  A bike shop on a bike street seems a very good idea.  Next door, The Kingdom of Roosevelt opened on February 12, at 2035 SE Cesar Chavez.  Owner Eric Bechard plans to serve elk, other game, and all the food that lived around the elk, wild vegetables, greens, mushrooms, berries, nuts, seeds, accompanied by beer or hard cider.  Shegizo, a Ramen restaurant, opened at 3810 SE Division on January 30.

Aster and Bee, at 4819 SE Division, a gift shop for all, just launched an online shop of handmade gifts from all over the country.  They are available from sales@asterandbee.com and offerings will increase as new items come in.  Ave Gene’s was a featured restaurant in Willamette Week. Xico got mixed reviews in The Oregonian. Hosford Middle School has started work on its bioswale.

D Street Village at 30th and Division is now advertising for commercial and creative businesses, www.urbanworks.com or 503.228.3080.  Flore (flower in Romanian) plans to open a flower shop in the building sometime in June.

Planning for the July 27 street fair is beginning. Vendors and volunteers contact Nancy Chapin, nchapin@tsgpdx.com.

There are two ways you can receive the latest information on the progress of the streetscape. They are:  email rhetta.drennan@portlandoregon.gov with “Division” in the subject line, or call the update hotline at 503.823.1997. Joseph Arnett will be on the street updating business owners when the construction will affect them. Joe can be reached at joseph.annett@portlandoregon.gov.
