We had a great turnout for the Meet the Muralist open house Sunday, February 24 for the Mural Project at NE 47th and Burnside. The Muralist had a preliminary draft based on survey results received and took notes of the feedback from interested neighbors. If you did not get a chance to attend, go online and fill out a survey to share your ideas at www.northtabor.org/mural or drop by Laurelhurst Cafe to leave comments at our permanent display. The muralists will have a more finalized draft for our March board meeting to present for the RAAC grant in April. Come join us and share your feedback!

If you miss our Rain Gardens 101 workshop on Saturday, March 2,, there are still spots available for the Naturescaping Basics workshop on Saturday, March 9. These free workshops are from 9 am – 1 pm at the Community of Christ Church, 4837 NE Couch. Register online at www.emswcd.org.

The Annual Cleanup is coming up on April 27.  We are looking for volunteers for the event which is our largest fundraiser for the year.  Email volunteer@northtabor.org if you would like to get involved or visit our website for more information on last year’s cleanup.

Our February Board meeting had an inspiring presentation by Mark Lakeman from Village Convergence on Placemaking and an informative discussion with John Cole, City of Portland City Planner regarding policy changes for Hospital Campuses in the proposed Comprehensive Plan Update . We also approved a donation pledge to support the Mural Project. March’s meeting will be one of the last opportunities to contribute to the mural design. We will have guests from Clean Energy Works Oregon and a representative from Columbia Riverkeeper regarding Coal Export through Oregon.  Join us on March 19 at 5600 NE Glisan from 6:30 – 8:30 pm.

If you would like to get involved with the neighborhood association, North Tabor News or have a project idea email us at volunteer@northtabor.org or leave a comment on our website.

  1. Woah! I’m really loving the template/theme of this site.
It’s simple, yet effective. A lot of times it’s difficult to get that “perfect balance” between usability and visual appeal.
I must say you’ve done a amazing job with this. Additionally, the blog loads very
quick for me on Opera. Excellent Blog!
