There’s a new spirited CD in town full of bluesy, swampy, twangy country-rockin and tales of hard-living and imagination. Ron Rogers and the Wailing Wind have released a new collection of musical curios that even the cover picture reflects. Rogers’ tasty tunes are well-crafted, danceable, thoughtfully-written, and impeccably played with spirit and energy.
The Wailing Wind band is a solid quartet with Rogers handling the guitar and singing, Don Campbell on bass and harmonies, Chris Bond on drums and Dave Grafe on the sumptious pedal steel. Everyone in the band has been part of the local and national circuit for years with many accolades between them and an impressive list of recording and touring credits. These guys have simpatico!
The album’s tracks were recorded analog and it feels like a well-recorded live album. These are songs you’ll find in your mind hours after listening and surely a roadtrip soundtrack to get you to Salem and back.
