Rootsy singer/songwriter Thad Beckman has been recording, entertaining and traveling for more than 30 years. His originals ring with the blues of the South no matter where he is and his fingers find the funkified articulation of the most adept country players.
Beckman has opened for B.B. King and Emmylou Harris, released eight CDs and has been on OPB’s Oregon ArtBeat. Besides his own gigs, he’s been a journeyman guitarslinger for storytelling songwriter Tom Russell since 2008.
Hear him in concert in the intimate music room of TaborSpace, Saturday November 23 with Jerry Keefe. TaborSpace is at 5441 SE Belmont St. where you enter through the belltower. The music begins at 7 pm.
Keefe is a guitarist with The Dreadnoughts and The Emerson House Band and has studied with Beckman (who is also a Portland guitar teacher). The concert features both guitarists and their songs, and a surprise or two thrown in along the way.
Tickets for the concert are $10 at the door and all ages are welcome.
