The Richmond Neighborhood Association held its monthly meeting on October 14, 2013 at Waverly Heights Church at SE 33rd and Woodward St.   RNA meetings are held in the church basement; enter from the east-side door.  The RNA’s website is www.richmondpdx.org.

Katherine Anderson from Office of Neighborhood Involvement discuss the recent tire punctures/vandalism issues.  Approximately 51% of the vehicles effected have been SUV’s, and 84% have been SUV’s, trucks and vans and most of the vandalism is occurring between 10pm and 6am on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday nights.   It is thought that this is an under-reported issue, as many people don’t realize it is a crime.  It is recommended that residents park off-street if possible, increase the lighting around your home and just be more aware of unusual people or activity in your neighborhood.  Residents are encouraged to report via phone ((503) 823-3333) and request an officer to respond or www.portlandoregon.gov/police/cor/

Bruce Howard of Everett Custom Homes gave an update on at Lincoln St Church Development.  He answered several of the neighbor’s questions.  Demolition is set to begin in the next couple weeks.  Developer Mark Desbrow also gave a presentation about the building project at 2607 SE 31st Avenue and addressed neighbor’s questions and concerns.

The RNA/HAND/Buckman Friends of Trees planting date is December 7, 2013.

The next RNA meeting will be Monday, November 11, 2013 at Waverly Heights Congregational Church (basement), 3300 SE Woodward St., 7-9pm.
