Neighborhood Notes North Tabor

North Tabor

By Catherine Riddell

North Tabor Neighborhood hosted a “Neighborhood Visioning” in November facilitated by Ashe Urban of SE Uplift. Neighbors gathered to proposed ideas and brainstorm action plans to bring about positive change in the community. Ideas ranged from a pocket park, better crosswalks, intersection repair and asset mapping, to capping the I-84 freeway. We are hoping to carry some of the energy of the event forward into action.

At the November general meeting, a slate of new board members was elected. Members of the new board are Moonrose Doherty, Terry Dublinski, Krystofer Milton, Gail Morris and Beth Sanders. For the time being, the chairperson is a rotating position.

Gail Morris is continuing as board secretary. Beth Sanders and Terry Dublinski are co-chairing the Land Use and Transportation Committee, with Beth focusing on land use and Terry on transportation. Cary Hixon and Beth Sanders will be North Tabor’s representatives to the Providence Good Neighbor Agreement Standing Committee. Thanks and appreciation to the outgoing board! Best wishes to the new board!

The land use and transportation committee will meet at 6 pm on Tuesday, December 3 at Laurelhurst Cafe. Preliminary agenda includes: review of prior notes and issues; surveymonkey software; reviewing and prioritizing visioning list for the December board meeting; outreach plans; getting authorization to begin preliminary discussion with the Burnside high crash corridor program.

The next meeting of the NTNA is Tuesday, December 17, 6:30-8:30 pm at 5600 NE Glisan.
