According to MTNA Land Use Co-Chair Stephanie Stewart, the Water Bureau’s final proposal will be presented, perhaps including responses to community concerns. Both Parks Commissioner Amanda Fritz and Water Commissioner Nick Fish will be present. Attending this meeting will help citizens understand the controversial project so that they are better prepared to make comments for the official case-record.
These public meetings are co-sponsored by the Portland Water Bureau and the Mt. Tabor Neighborhood Association. Everyone in the city is invited to participate.
MTNA Elections: Ballots were distributed and collected with the existing Board re-elected. After discussion of the current responsibilities of the board, the following members were elected: Nadine Fiedler – noise variance liaison, Barb Gamelgard, John Laursen, Paul Leistner – SEUL delegate, Brian/Kate Mitchell – Brian – land use co-chair, Kate – secretary, neighborhood contact for mail and email, Nancy Norby – meeting facilitator, Jim Smith – agenda builder, Steve Stenberg – Warner Pacific College Liaison, Stephanie Stewart – land use co-chair, Bing Wong – treasurer and Friends of Mt. Tabor Park Liaison.
The Songbird Cafe’s yearly Block Party fundraiser for the Friends of Mt Tabor Park is July 27.
The next MTNA meeting will be Wednesday, June 18 at 7 PM at Mt. Tabor Presbyterian Church at SE 54th and Belmont, with a social time starting 6:50 PM
