The Attic’s Summer Writing Workshop series begins in July held at the Attic Institute, 4232 SE Hawthorne Blvd.
• July 16 – Aug 13: Dao Strom’s Writing Fiction Workshop Writing about the Lives of Girls, Women, Boys, and Men. Wednesdays, 5-7 pm, July 16 – Aug 16, 5 weeks Create your own character-rich, well-crafted short stories based on the study of Alice Munro, modern master of the short story.
• Saturday August 2: John Morrison’s Deep Writing in Poetry Workshop. 10 am – 3 pm Read great contemporary poems, consider their emotional stakes and their technical underpinnings then explore writing activities to get your poems going.
• Saturday August 2: Kelly Wallace’s Introduction to Memoir. 10 am – 1 pm You’ve got a story to tell and this intro to writing a memoir is a good place to begin learning how to do it.
