• OCCUPY THE FARM – Wednesday and Thursday April 2, 7 pm. This new film is premiering in more than twenty-five cities this weekend. It tells the story of a community’s fight to save public land for urban farming. When 200 farmers march to the gates of the last farmland in the urban East Bay near Oakland, they don’t carry signs protesting University of California’s plans to build a shopping center. Instead, they carry tents, tools and 15,000 seedlings. See the trailer at vimeo.com/117053430. Director Todd Darling will be in house for questions April 2.

• CHARLES LLOYD: ARROWS INTO INFINITY – Thursday, April 9, 7 pm. Lloyd was catapulted into worldwide fame in his 20s and by his early 30s, he abandoned his life of touring and recording and went into seclusion in Big Sur. His own voice, and those who worked with him over the last five decades examine his spiritual pursuit through music. A collaborative work between Lloyd’s wife painter Dorothy Darr and videographer/filmmaker, Jeffery Morse. Part of KBOO and Clinton Street Theater’s monthly series every second Thursday of the month.

• TRACE AMOUNTS – Saturday, April 11, 12:30 pm. During the past 20 years, autism occurring in children has skyrocketed from 1 in 10,000 to 1 in 68. This film is the true story of Eric Gladen’s painful journey through mercury poisoning he believes resulted from a thimerosal-loaded tetanus shot. He focuses on something that belongs nowhere near vaccines – mercury. The film explores the origin of the use of mercury in vaccines and exposes the greed-based decision to keep it through several decades. The result of nearly a decade of research and travel, top scientists, government officials, parents of children with Autism, and the average person unravel the truths, secrets and tragedies of skyrocketing Autism rates.

• SALAD DAYS: A DECADE OF PUNK IN WASHINGTON, DC – Saturday, April 18, 5 pm, 7 pm, 9 pm. A documentary examining the early DIY punk scene in DC. Bad Brains, Minor Threat, Government Issue, Scream, Void, Marginal Man, Fugazi and others released their own records and booked their own shows—without major record label constraints or mainstream media scrutiny.

• SONG FROM THE FOREST – Thursday – Sunday, April 23 – 26, 4 pm. American Louis Sarno heard a song on the radio 25 years ago and followed its melody into the Central Africa Jungle and stayed, recording over 1000 hours of BaAka music. He now is part of the BaAka community. The BaAka depend on Louis for their survival. How much longer will the songs of the forest be heard?
