Record Store Day

is coming up again on Saturday April 18, the annual celebration of the stores that persevere and continue to make recordings of life-changing music available and special, all the while being independent and supporting a community of listeners and players.

Not every town has a record store anymore, but Music Millennium, 3158 E. Burnside (at 32nd), has hundreds of exclusive, limited edition, rare vinyl and CD releases available by Dolly Parton, The Decemberists, Jeff Beck, Captain Beefheart, Johnny Cash, Miles Davis, and way too many others all available on a first come, first served on RSD.

The store opens at 8 am and lines will surely form much earlier as there’ll be gift bags for the first 1000 shoppers. Special RSD live music performances include Dawes at 6 pm and Dead Moon at 8 pm.
