A unique evening of unamplified acoustic performance by five of Portland’s roots music groups, all playing au naturel without a PA. Even better: it’s taking place in one of Portland’s oldest historic theatres, just like during the Vaudeville days.
The unplugged extravaganza takes off Saturday May 9 beginning at 7 pm and features The High Water Jazz Band (20’s-40’s hot jazz); Zach Bryson (hillbilly yodeling and pre-war blues); The Moonshine (5-piece Cascadian string band); Trashcan Joe (new old-time jazz legends featuring homemade instruments) and The Coupe Duet (inspired by early American music).
The show is put together by Joe Baker’s Jelly Roll Jamboree, who combines old-time country, blues and jazz at every show.
Tickets are $10 and available at the door or online at www.cstpdx.com. All ages are welcome. Clinton Street Theater is on the corner at SE 26th and Clinton St.
