The Richmond Neighborhood Association (RNA) held its monthly meeting on June 8 at Waverly Heights Church. The Mixed Use Zones Project Code Concepts Report is out, and available at www.portlandoregon.gov/bps/article/531987. This project is rewriting all the “commercial” zones throughout the city.

Richmond’s Movie in the Park will be Saturday, August 22 in Sewallcrest Park at SE 31st Ave & Market St. The featured film will be Napoleon Dynamite. Activities will start at 6:30 pm.

Division–Clinton Street Fair will be held July 15. RNA will have a table and we look forward to meeting more neighbors.

Richmond’s Neighborhood Cleanup was successful and saw an increase in sales for plants and rummage.

The board had a discussion of “Best Practices”, covering Documenting Minority Positions, Communications within the board and outside meetings, Motions and Voting, Dealing with Differences of Opinion, and Time Management.

The RNA annual election was held. Seven people ran for four open seats. Voting results showed three new board members elected: Alan Kessler, Erik Matthews, and Tom McTighe; Jordan Lanz was re-elected. Elected officers for the year are: Cyd Manro, chair; Brendon Haggerty, vice-chair; Kari Schlosshauer, secretary; and Jonathan King, treasurer. Doug Klotz was appointed SEUL Land Use & Transportation Committee representative, and Denise Hare was appointed SEUL Coalition Board representative.

Land Use: the 5134 Division project, a 14-unit, 3-story apartment with 10 parking spaces, will be presented at a June 22 Land Use meeting, along with a proposed 4-unit subdivision at 4942 SE Brooklyn. The building permit is issued for the 3-story 10 unit apartment at 4010 Division St.

Division Design Committee: The data analysis by the consultant is almost done. A first draft of the Guidelines will be presented at the next meeting, scheduled for June 25, 6:30 at SE Uplift.
