The Hawthorne Boulevard Food & Drink Guide is out and on the Boulevard. It is HBBA’s 2015 gift to the Boulevard and the Community. With 110 businesses listed, 7000 11×17 tri-folded copies were printed and hit the streets on Wednesday, the 25th. Watch for it. We expect this edition to be scooped up fast so will plan a reprinting for summer that will be larger, which increases printing costs significantly, so we’ll be able to include sponsors, ads and our Food Court pods.

It’s a busy time for us all and many of our businesses are taking part in the Little Boxes campaign, celebrating Small Business Saturday and collecting unwrapped toys for the KGW Toy Drive. Watch for the posters. Wells Fargo, Memento, Roosevelt’s Terrariums, Kids at Heart and others are collecting sites.

The Hawthorne Holiday Stroll is Saturday, December 5: Noon to 5 pm and the Holiday Gift Guide with an opportunity to win Gift Certificates in the middle will be out on December 2. For a sneak peak, go to hawthornepdx.com.

The Fernie Brae hosts a Tree Lighting ceremony starting at 5 pm and you may drop by their shop on SE 41st to make decorations for the tree that day or bring a decoration to add to the fun.

Fred Meyer has brought Santa Claus to the floral room off the parking lot: noon to 4 pm, many stores plus those in the Gift Guide will have specials and you may meet President Roosevelt at Roosevelt’s Terrariums at SE 44th.

The Hawthorne Ghost Tour folks are offering a $5 discount at 6 pm at SE 37th if you show your Gift Guide.

Article sponsors: Hawthorne Vision Center and The SE Examiner and 2015 HBBA Benefactors: Burgerville and Fred Meyer.
