Biddy’s becomes O’Neill’s

The bar and live music venue previously known as Biddy McGraw’s (or Biddy’s) at 6000 NE Glisan St., has a hot new handle: The O’Neill Public House.

“The only thing about Biddy McGraw’s Irish Pub that has changed is its name; same owners, same staff, same kitchen, same music schedule,” says bartender Ian Sieren. “We couldn’t keep the name due to a partial change of ownership, so we used this opportunity to reinforce the history of Biddy’s by adopting Biddy’s maiden name. There was in fact an actual Biddy, and she was born Patricia “Biddy” O’Neill – bearing the same last name as the first king of Northern Ireland.”

A couple of April highlights from the music calendar:

• Friday April 8 at 6 pm – Sky in the Road, stringed folk, songwriter, Celtic

• April 9 at 6 pm – Redray Frazier and Ezra Holbrook, soul singers • Later the same night at 9:30 pm – The Hillwilliams, bluegrass

• April 29 at 9:30 pm – Smut City Jellyroll Society with ragtime, swing, blues.
