The Brothers of the Baladi celebrate the release of a new CD, Gravity of Love, Sunday April 10 at 7 pm at Vie de Boheme, 1530 SE 7th Ave. This is a 21 and over show. Tickets are $7 at the door.
The CD is their 12th and features a half dozen original songs covering a wide range of influences, three updated Turkish and Arabic songs and even a cover of Jimi Hendrix’ “One Rainy Wish.”
The band was originally formed by percussionist/vocalist Michael Beach in Yuma, Arizona. The Brothers currently consists of Beach, Clark Salisbury on oud, Turkish saz and guitar; bassist J. Michael Kearsey and drummer Charles Pike. Their sound is one that truly knows no borders.
