Richmond Neighborhood Association held its monthly meeting April 11 at Waverly Heights Church at SE 33rd and Woodward St.

Matt Gough from BES updated the RNA on the SE Hawthorne-Salmon Area Green Street and Sewer Project. Starting May 2, there will 3 weeks of 24 hour construction at two sites along Hawthorne – between 41st and 43rd, and between 47th – 49th.

Joe Tursi from BES presented the latest on the Richmond-South Tabor Project. This project is currently in the research phase. It will cover roughly 2 miles of sewer pipe replacement. The project will focus on the worst 2% of pipes in the city. Project construction is scheduled to start in the summer of 2017.

RNA discussed recommendations made by the RNA Election Committee. Richmond resident, Fillard Spring-Rhyne, brought up the concept of ranked choice voting. The RNA board has decided to hold a special session to further discuss this concept Monday, May 2, at 7 pm.

Meetings are held at Waverly Heights Congregational Church, 3300 SE Woodward St. in the church basement. Enter from the east-side door. The website is richmondpdx.org. The next regularly scheduled meeting is Monday, May 9, 7 to 9 pm.
