The BCA wishes to acknowledge the following for another successful and well attended Buckman Picnic in the Park. First, thank you to our financial and “in-kind” local business sponsors without whom the picnic could not happen: Killian Pacific, Mill Creek Residential Trust, Coca-Cola Bottling of Portland, Andersen Construction, Venerable Properties, Revolution Hall, School Specialty Inc., Michael Italian Beef and Sausage, Beam Construction, Wentworth Subaru, Portland Spirit, Bolliger Insurance, Peter Stark and several neighborhood individuals.

Also thank you to our awesome volunteers from the Kiwanis Club, Janus Youth and Hinson Church. Finally, a huge round of well-deserved appreciation to our fabulous picnic organizers, the “Buckman Picnic Team”, including Nancy, Greg, Jim B, Jim E, Rie, Rick, Sam, Bill and Susan. Producing the picnic is fun and we welcome your participation for next year!  We should have a new “Splash Pad” at Colonel Summers Park next year so imagine the fun.

The Buckman Community Association meets monthly every 2nd Thursday, 7 to 9 pm in the Multnomah County Board Room 501 SE Hawthorne Blvd. The Board meets prior at 6:20 pm. All are welcome. The Sept. 8th general meeting agenda includes a request to address homeless concerns in Buckman. The BCA Land Use Meeting will be September 15 7-8:30 pm and will include updates on new developments.
