August Wilson Monologue Competition

The August Wilson Red Door Project is proud to bring back our flagship program, the August Wilson Monologue Competition, a free national competition celebrating the work of an African-American playwright, culminating in an all-expenses-paid trip for our two finalists to perform on Broadway.
We are actively looking for high school students of color, though we encourage high school students of all ethnicities to apply. Available to Portland, Vancouver, and surrounding cities.
The press release for the competition is attached. Please respond to this email with any questions or press inquiries. I’m also attaching a photograph. Photo credit goes to Beth Nakamura. Application deadline is November 30, and we are performing in-class recruitment presentations until that date.
