Café Artichoke Concerts: Beth Wood /Will Hornyak

December marks Artichoke’s first holiday season since moving to its new home at 2007 SE Powell Blvd. The non-profit music center celebrates the season with live music at its Café,  new stock in its instrument store, and registration for classes and workshops for the January school term.

The store is open every day and carries a selection of new and vintage acoustic instruments. Learn to play guitar, banjo, uke, mandolin etc, write a song? Artichoke’s School of Music offers seven-week classes for beginning and experienced musicians. School of Music registration begins December 11 and classes start January 8.

Café Artichoke Concerts this month include:

Saturday December 9, 8 pm – Holiday Concert and Sock Drive to benefit Transition Projects featuring Beth Wood,

Songwriter Beth Wood

Adrian Martin, Ed Haynes, Alexa Wiley, Anne Weiss, Kelly Brightwell & Woody Moran, Matt Meighan, and others. Bring at least one pair of good-quality wool or wool-blend socks to be donated to folks in need through Sisters of the Road.

Saturday December 16, 8 pm – Will Hornyak, soulful storyteller, creative teacher and dynamic performer. Hornyak weaves world myths, tall tales and originals.

Tickets $15 available online through ArtichokeMusic.org. Concerts begin at 8, with doors at 7:30 pm.
