TEN CERAMIC ARTISTS, ONE ENCAUSTIC PAINTER – Visit one of Portland’s oldest ceramic studios, December 1-3, for the annual Holiday Show and Sale. Visitors will find hand-crafted mugs, wall art, sculpture, jewelry, and other fine art gifts. Added this year is Portland encaustic painter Karl Kaiser. THE HORSE BRASS PUB CHRISTMAS SHOW is Sunday, December 17 and for the 35th year, music will be performed by Tom May and Peter Yeates with Terry Prohaska, Donny Wright, Rich Gillette, Matt Snook and more at 4534 SE Belmont St. The party goes from 5 pm – 8:30 pm. Established in 1976, Don Younger was the original proprietor and the club’s slogan is “If it were any more authentic, you would need a passport.” Get there early for a seat.

SOROR MYSTICA – A Ritual Invocation of the Anima and  experimental theatre production presented by ParaTheatrical Research PDX. Spoken poetic text is excerpted from The Walls Do Not Fall by H.D. (aka Hilda Doolittle) and music and vocal creations are by Sylvi Alli, based on characters, elemental spirits and archetypes conceived by the director and the cast. OREGON KOTO-KAI offers a beautiful gift for this holiday season. Producer and Koto Master Mitsuki Dazai and the group present two concerts in Portland of seasonal and traditional music of Japan. Following the Christmas songs on koto, the storyteller tells the Japanese winter story with music accompaniment. • Saturday December 2 at Waverly Heights UCC, 3300 SE Woodward St. 7 pm, Doors at 6:30. MT. TABOR ARTWALK CALL TO ARTISTS – Details and online application is available at MtTaborArtWalk.com. Application, fee, and images for jurying are due December 31, for Early Bird fee or January 10, 2018 final deadline. The Art Walk will be May 19 and 20, 2018 and showcases artists living in the Mt. Tabor neighborhood and a limited number of guest artists.

3 LEG TORSO AND ROBIN LANE’S DOJUMP EXTREMELY PHYSICAL THEATRE perform a new Holiday show with a roller coaster ride through France, Eastern Europe, Argentina, North America, and the Middle East in the music of 3 Leg Torso; singer extraordinaire Pepe Raphael and the lovely Bottled Blondes; dynamic juggler Charles Brown; stellar pianist Ralph Huntley and more.
