PARATHEATRE: RITUAL WITHOUT DOGMA – An evening talk with Antero Alli, author/director, at PerformanceWorks Northwest, 4625 SE 67th Ave. (near Foster), Tuesday, February 19 at 7 pm. Alli, author of Towards an Archeology of the Soul, and artistic director of ParaTheatrical ReSearch PDX, will discuss the principles and methods of a ritual technology he’s developed, inspired by Jerzy Grotowski’s Paratheatre. PORTLAND JAZZ COMPOSERS ENSEMBLE (PJCE) presents From Maxville to Vanport, a multimedia project, Sunday, March 3 at Portland’s Mission Theater, 1624 NW Glisan St. A ten minute documentary by Sika Stanton screens at 7 pm. Music starts at 8 pm drawing from jazz, R&B, and blues, with stories of Black workers and their families in rural eastern Oregon and the area north of Portland.
