Climate Change Talk at Leach Botanical

August 17 @ 6:00 pm

As part of the Garden’s “After Hours in the Garden” lecture series, the Wednesday, August 17 talk will look at how to adapt your yard and garden to the new extreme weather events. PDX Adult Soapbox Derby

August 20

The derby is back after a two-year hiatus on Saturday, August 20 at Mt. Tabor Park. Starting at 10 am, with races running until 4 pm, enjoy food and beverage from vendors or bring a picnic for a day of free family fun. More at soapboxracer.com.

Soul 2 Soul 2022

Sunday Parkways in East Portland 

August 21

The 15th anniversary of this event continues Sunday, August 21 in East Portland, going through neighborhoods they’ve never been before. Four parks are along the route with each featuring unique experiences. Streets on the route will be closed to car traffic so people can bike, walk, roll and play. SymbiOp Fundraiser

SymbiOp Garden Shop, 3454 SE Powell Blvd., holds a fundraiser Friday, August 26, 9 am-7 pm for Green Lents. 10 percent of sales will be donated to the nonprofit that provides a tool library, gardening workshops, youth leadership training and other resources/services to promote community resilience and environmental justice for the Lents neighborhood and beyond.
