Bluesman Doug MacLeod lands in Portland with a new CD and a concert Thursday March 14 at  Duff’s Garage, 1635 SE 7th Ave. at 9 pm. The new disc, There’s a Time, released by Reference Recordings is a live 24 bit high definition recording featuring MacLeod, Denny Croy on bass and Jimi Bott on drums.

MacLeod’s 30+ years of playing has landed him sideman gigs with George ‘Harmonica’ Smith, Big Joe Turner, Pee Wee Crayton, Eddie ‘Cleanhead’ Vinson, Lowell Fulson and Big Mama Thornton. His tunes have been covered by Albert King, Albert Collins, Joe Louis Walker and Eva Cassidy. He has co-written songs with Dave Alvin and Coco Montoya. In his early years, he apprenticed as a sideman with legends Big Joe Turner, Pee Wee Crayton, Eddie “Cleanhead” Vinson and Big Mama Thornton.
