Sok Sab Bai at 2625 SE 21st is a Cambodian restaurant, expanding from its food cart at 11th and Clay. It replaces Bara Sushi House. www.soksabbi.com. Meghan Arambul opened Fieldwork Flowers at 4807 SE Division. Her store hours are limited and much of her work is done by email. Contact her at www.fieldworkflowers.com.
D Street Village plans to start construction at 31st and 32nd in May. Both buildings will have limited parking. The Wild Oats building should be done in June. Work at 37th is still in abeyance. Division Hardware will put a parking lot in the empty space next door.
Streetscape work on Division will probably begin in late May. All the activity now is utilities fortifying their equipment and developers preparing their water and sewer hookups. Chavez (39th) will be closed between Hawthorne and Lincoln from July 1 – July 21. There will be limited local access. Since there are no reasonable detours Tri-Met is still trying to find a route for the #75. 26,000 cars a day will have to find a way around the closed street.
Dining on Division/Clinton Cuisine winners have been picked and are being notified. See the website for more information.
Planning for the July 27 street fair has begun. Vendors and volunteers please contact Nancy Chapin, nchapin@tsgpdx.com. The first planning meeting is April 12 at 4 pm at Sckavone’s on Division at 41st. We’re running out of parking lots for our vendors. If you have an idea for a vendor space, let us know.
To receive the latest information on the progress of the streetscape. email rhetta.drennan@portlandoregon.gov with “Division” in the subject line, or call the update hotline at 503.823.1997.
