May was an exciting month for South Tabor! With a successful Spring Clean-up, board elections, and kiosk construction, we’ve certainly been busy! Although much as been accomplished, there is a still a lot of work to be done, and projects to participate in!
First and foremost, please welcome new board members Kelly Horsford and Eric Lozano to the board! Kelly will take over as South Tabor secretary, and Eric will fill the role of Southeast Uplift representative. We’ve excited to have them on the board. In addition, Sandy Hay Magdaleno was reelected to the board as president. Sandy helped us through a challenging year of board changes and budget decisions, and we’re looking forward to her continued leadership in the future.
The annual Spring Clean Up was a huge success! Nearly 100 neighbors participated, which helped the neighborhood association accomplish a vital fundraising goal. The new location at Warner Pacific College worked very well. Many thanks to Warner Pacific College for their generosity and support. Also, a big shout out to Waste Management for their help and participation. And finally, a huge “thank you” to all the volunteers.
Many volunteers are still needed to help install nine beautiful information kiosks around South Tabor. The first installation date is Sunday June 9th. Email firstname.lastname@example.org to volunteer.
Have you heard of the Southeast Food Project? Donating food couldn’t be easier. Sign up, receive a bag, fill with one item every week, and leave on your porch to be picked up every two months! Learn more at www.southeastfoodproject.com
Please note that the meeting format has changed. There is only one meeting in June.
Next board and general meeting: Thursday, June 20th, 7:00 – 8:30, Trinity Fellowship Church
