Students at Mt. Tabor Middle School have come up with an impressive group of 2015 Hawthorne Street Fair poster design suggestions. To see the talent in this group of 6th graders, check out the display of their art on the staircases at the Hawthorne New Seasons. We are so pleased with their work that a 16 month calendar is being designed to print for sale! Thanks to their teacher, Molly Renauer, for her assistance with this project.

We are getting pretty jazzed about this year’s Hawthorne Street Fair August 16 from 11 am to 7 pm. New additions will make it an even more pleasant and fun event. Kids at Heart is planning a more active Children’s area at SE 35th Avenue. There will be street entertainers throughout the closed area event: Cesar Chavez to SE 30th.  Bazi is sponsoring entertainment and a Beer Garden at SE 32nd.  In addition to Rivermark CCU sponsoring the Main Stage at SE 34th, other major sponsors to date are Hawthorne Fred Meyer, Presents of Mind, Por Que No, Safeway, Imelda’s and Louie’s Shoes, New Seasons, Mink,  Echo Theater, Kalberer Properties, Sloan and Buffalo Exchange.

There will be activities continuing east on Hawthorne and a party celebrating lower Hawthorne sponsored by Really Good Stuff at SE Maple. Watch for more information as we get closer.

Thank you to article sponsors, Hawthorne Vision Center and The SE Examiner and to 2015 HBBA Benefactors to date: Hawthorne’s New Seasons Market,  Burgerville and Fred Meyer.
