Ring in the new this New Years Eve with the Jerry Douglas Band and bluegrass master Peter Rowan, Thursday, December 31 at the Alberta Rose Theatre, 3000 NE Alberta St. There are two shows at 7 and at 10 pm and both will surely be unforgettable.
Some say dobro master and 13-time Grammy winner Jerry Douglas “is to the resonator guitar what Jimi Hendrix was to the electric guitar”. He certainly has elevated, transformed and reinvented the instrument in countless ways.
Peter Rowan (pictured) began his career in 1963 singing, writing songs and playing rhythm guitar for Bill Monroe and his Bluegrass Boys. He played with Earth Opera, Seatrain, The Rowan Brothers and is one of the founders of Old and In the Way with Jerry Garcia, Dave Grisman, Vassar Clements and John Kahn.
Tickets are $55 Advance, $65 at the door and $80 preferred seating (first five rows in center section available in advance only) at albertarosetheatre.com.
