This Holiday Art Sale has been a tradition since 1978. Each year, Jeanne Henry’s 1890 farmhouse greets neighbors with one of a kind handmade art, smells of hot cider and a warm fire. This year it’s held Saturdays and Sundays, December 5 and 6, and 12 and 13, from 10 am to 5 pm.

abig-longhorn2Henry’s clay sculptures are wall pieces, hand-thrown bowls, cups, vases, platters, crocks and pie dishes. Her ceramic chickens are life-sized, true to breed and hand-sculpted. “They are housebroken, Won’t run away, stay in one spot, don’t wander, don’t need feeding, friendly, VERY quiet, don’t mind the rain and are raccoon proof…”

Other artists featured are Bridget Smith (Whimsical Wonders of recycled glass; centerpieces, candlesticks and candy dishes) and Jeanne Garrett with soda and wood-fired vessels and intricate embossed surface designs.

Live Renaissance music is a part of the fun Sunday 12/6 at 4 pm and Saturday 12/12 at 1 pm. It all takes place at 3290 SE Harrison St. / / 503.232.9473.
