Posada Milagro 2017 is the 15th annual family celebration of Christmas at Milagro Theatre. It all takes place Sunday, December 10, from 1 pm – 5 pm at 537 SE Stark St. Enter through El Zócalo at El Centro Milagro. This community celebration, filled with Latin American traditions and culture, reflects upon the journey of Mary and Joseph in their search for refuge.
Festivities include arts and crafts activities, storytelling for children five and under, a piñata for all ages, and of course traditional foods for purchase by Tortilleria y Tienda De Leon’s. There will be performances in the theatre at 2 and 4 pm featuring music and folkloric dances by Ballet Papalotl and Colectivo Son Jarocho de Portland, and the traditional Pastorela.
Tickets for theatre performances are free, distributed on a first come/first served basis beginning at 1 pm. Milagro has partnered with Oregon Food Bank to collect food for hunger-relief agencies throughout Oregon and Clark County, Washington. Please bring canned food/non-perishable items to help make this food drive a success. For information, go to milagro.org or call 503.236.7253.
