Nevada’s Jayna Conkey’s new photographic series is Withdrawn, Roll-Up Studio + Gallery’s February show.
The exhibit documents mutilated library books and the pages transform into multi-layered images.
Conkey photographed defaced books from libraries around the country and these anonymous interventions embody the twofold responses of censorship and voyeurism.
She is a Professor of Photography and Graphic Design at Western Nevada College.
